Fetal dopplers are becoming very popular among pregnant women. In fact using a fetal doppler during pregnancy can save your baby’s life.
Early in her pregnancy, one of my friends Mary purchased a Meditech fetal Doppler in order to monitor her baby’s heartbeat at home. “I had a previous miscarriage and was looking for a little bit of reassurance. I purchased the doppler when I was 10 weeks along. I used the doppler about once a day, just enough to make me feel better.”
Mary developed complications during her pregnancy that required she have a non-stress test to check on the baby, twice a week. On November 11, after a seemingly normal stress test things took a turn for the worst. “On Tuesday, November 11, I went for my non-stress test which was normal. I was rushed into surgery and had an emergency c-section 30 minutes after my arrival.”

Mary states “Because of my doppler, my little boy is here and healthy”
Fetal dopplers are typically used by doctors to detect a fetal heartbeat after 10-12 weeks. In the past, fetal dopplers were too expensive for the average pregnant women to afford.
